Day 9: Go through toys to give away.
I have to tell you that I was so proud of my son and the heart he had going through his toys. I told him that we were going to see what we could give away of his toys (and some of Mommy & Daddy's things too) to help someone out who truly needed it. He was on board, and truly wanted to bless someone else. (Thank you, God!)
Day 10: Sell Our Stuff for Haiti!
I wrestled with what to do with our stuff we collected: donate, etc. There are two places to donate stuff in our town and the last time I went to both (recently) they were so full of stuff. I didn't feel like we would really make a difference that way. Then the idea came to me, have a garage sale for Heartline in Haiti. There is a blog I love to read that talks about Heartline and I've fallen in love with that place!
So I put up a few flyers that said "All proceeds go to help women & infants in Haiti through Heartline Ministires". I also printed a flyer to handout to those who bought on more information on Heartline with their website on it, in hopes that it would peek their curiosity to go check it out and for them to fall in love with it like I have!
On Saturday (Day 11) we were supposed to help Daddy in the yard, but we chose to have the sale go through Saturday instead so we'll be doubling our gift this coming weekend when Daddy is home.
On Saturday evening, I was trying to figure out where to donate the money on the Heartline website (there were a few options to choose from) and then the Aggie Missionaries posted about Heartline's Teen Mom Home and the needs there. I just knew that this is what we needed to do with the money.
So it gave a contact email if you wanted to adopt a room. I emailed the person and said I'd like to adopt one of the bathrooms. I just knew that the bathrooms were going to be already taken, and I just prayed that if that was where God wanted me to use the money at Heartline then he would make it happen. If not, I knew he wanted it in their general fund. It took a two days for them to get back with me, but we got the pink bathroom!! I can't tell you how excited I was. I showed our 4 year old the pictures of the teen mom's and their babies that the money we collected would be helping. He said "Oh Mom, I'm so excited to help them!" He said it was "so sad" that they were living on the porch of the house right now.
I wasn't planning on sharing that we were adopting a room, but they put my name on their website by it and in another post asked for us to share with others about this so more people can help. So this is why I decided to go ahead and share this.
I can't wait to go shopping!!! When it comes to me wanting baby #3 to be a girl or a boy..... I wanted it to be a girl so I could dress her, but I so didn't want to raise a girl---I promise they scare me!! I much rather raise a boy. So I love any excuse to buy pink----and they gave me the pink bathroom! Couldn't be more excited! Please go check out that information and do anything you feel led to do.

We went through my son's toys, too! He boxed up all his Toy Story toys because he doesn't like them anymore. (My MIL took him to see Toy Story 3 and it scared him badly)!
